Curtains can collect dust, smoke, pollution and everyday grime over time, even when they appear relatively clean. As they hang in your home, they are continually exposed to airborne particles, cooking smells and general household dust, which can gradually affect their appearance and freshness.
Professional curtain cleaning can help refresh your curtains, improve their appearance and remove accumulated dirt and soiling. Clean curtains can also make a noticeable difference to the overall look and feel of a room, helping your furnishings look well cared for.
Richard Morgan Carpet Services provides specialist curtain cleaning throughout Peterborough and Cambridgeshire, using a method designed to clean curtains while they remain hanging in place. This offers a convenient alternative to taking them down and sending them away for cleaning, helping to minimise disruption to your home.
Dry Curtain Cleaning In Situ
There's no need to take your curtains down and transport them elsewhere. Our specialist equipment allows us to clean curtains in situ, meaning they can be treated while hanging in their usual position.
This approach helps make the cleaning process more convenient, avoiding the need to remove curtains from their rails and reinstall them afterwards. It can be particularly useful for large, heavy or difficult-to-handle curtains, although the suitability of the cleaning method will depend on the fabric and its condition.
Our specialist curtain cleaning process uses equipment designed to apply and extract the cleaning solvent, helping to lift away accumulated dirt and grime. Before cleaning, the curtains and their fabric should be assessed to determine whether the method is appropriate.
Over time, curtains can be affected by a variety of everyday contaminants, including:
Curtains can be affected by
-
Dust and airborne particles
-
Smoke and odours
-
Pollution
-
Everyday grime
-
Discolouration and dullness
Specialist Curtain Cleaning Equipment
Richard Morgan Carpet Services uses specialist equipment that heats the cleaning solvent before it is extracted from the curtain fabric. This process is designed to help clean the material while the curtains remain hanging, without the need for conventional washing or removal from the property.
We use Safety Solvents, a highly refined dry-cleaning solvent developed as an alternative to Trichloroethane. The solvent contains no ozone-depleting substances.
Using specialist equipment and an appropriate cleaning method helps us treat suitable curtains with care. As different fabrics can react differently to cleaning, the material and its condition should always be considered before treatment begins.
